Evaluate Well utilises a combination of machine learning and keyword matching algorithms to analyse student survey responses. Our software suite called SafeSurvey detects harmful, discriminatory, or offensive language, as well as references to harm or discrimination experienced by students.

Evaluate Well is capable of detecting a wide range of harmful and discriminatory content. Depending on your needs we can either notify for any unacceptable content, or specifically classify responses into categories such as race, sex, disability, and many more. There are several options that educational institutes can take after harmful content is detected. To minimise harm if content is harmful, discriminatory, or offensive to an educator:

• The response could be deleted
• The harmful content could be removed or editted
• The student could be asked to re-write their response without the harmful content

To minimise harm to students if a response references discrimination or harmful behaviour experienced by a student:

• The issue could be investigated further with appropriate follow-up actions
